The 8 Series

The BMW 8 Series' appeal lies in the ride. This vehicle is no exception. Its adaptive suspension helps reduce body lean through corners, and xDrive shuttles torque to the wheels that need it most. It provides strong brakes and quick steering, increasing your confidence. The interior is comfortable and modern with many leather seats and a leather-wrapped wheel.

The S-Class

Mercedes-Benz started the S-Class as a chauffeur-driven luxury sedan, but the new model looks more like an everyday road-tripping car. Its driver-assistance system is more advanced than ever. There are three options: adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist. Blind-spot monitoring can also be included with emergency braking. A driver-assistance package can be added to your S Class, which includes lane departure warnings as well as Burmester High-End 3-D Surround Sound system.

The 996-generation Porsche 911

The first 996-generation Porsche 911 touring car came out in 2000. It came with four-wheel drive and a twin-turbocharged flat six engine producing up to 414 horsepower or 420 PS. It could accelerate to 0-97 km/h within 4.2 seconds. In 2002, the factory made available a turbocharger option. This increased power output up to 331 kW. This version was also equipped with the X50 option.

The Maserati Granturismo

The Maserati GrandeTurismo costs a reasonable amount. The Maserati GranTurismo is available in two versions: a coupe and an open-air GT Convertible. It also makes a great grand touring car for two. The Ferrari F12 is the inspiration for its 4.2-liter V8 powerplant. It boasts elegant looks, sporting driving ability, and modest practicality.

An automotive technician must be able to diagnose problems and make repairs quickly, safely, accurately, and efficiently.

An associate degree from a vocational school is required for anyone who wishes to become an automotive technician. After completing this program the student must pass the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence exam (ASE). ASE stands for American Society of Mechanical Engineers. There are two parts to the ASE certification exam. One section tests mechanical knowledge; the second section tests practical skills. To pass the test you must go to one of the authorized testing facilities. These testing sites can be found online and through your local dealer.

After passing the test, a candidate must pass an examination in order to be licensed as an automotive technician. The process will vary depending on where an applicant lives. For example, some states require candidates to attend a training course, while others allow them to study independently. Some states permit technicians to work immediately after they are granted their license. Others require them to wait at least six consecutive months before they can be licensed.

A person must apply to an auto dealership in order to get started as an automobile technician. Most new employees work as apprentices after they have been hired. Apprenticeship programs usually last three years. The apprenticeship program teaches students how to change oil, adjust brakes, replace tires, clean spark plugs, inspect engine compartments, and perform routine maintenance. Some students will learn advanced repair techniques, such as changing shocks, installing air filters, and replacing engines. Classes are offered by most schools during regular business hours. Some schools offer evening classes, however.

After completing an apprenticeship, a student becomes a journeyman. Journeymen spend typically four to five years learning to install major systems such as transmissions and differentials, steering gear, suspensions and drive shafts. They are also taught how to troubleshoot electrical components and remanufacture engines. Because they have the experience and knowledge to do the job right, employers love hiring journeymen.

If a candidate successfully passes the required exams and receives a license, he/she might want to consider starting his/her own shop. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were almost 1.7 million available jobs in the automotive mechanic field in 2010. This number is expected to increase by 18% between 2009 and 2020. A candidate who plans to open a shop should expect to spend many thousands of dollars on equipment and supplies.

A common trend is for salary increases to occur so a professional making less than $30,000 can reasonably expect to be earning $40,000 or more within a few years.
