Bizarre Cars in the Week

flying cars for sale

If you're interested in seeing some of the world's most weird cars, you've come to the right place. This article will showcase some of most unusual cars ever produced, including the Suzuki X-90, Nissan Pulsar NX and the Hummer H2.

The Isetta

The Isetta was a unique car, and was known as a "bubble vehicle." Because it was a bubble-shaped car, there were no side window options. Additionally, the front end hinged inwards to permit access for the driver. The Isetta was equipped with a single door, which opened to reveal a seating area. Two headlamps were mounted halfway up its body. The taillights were mounted normally, and the reverse lights were installed under the bumper.

The Suzuki X-90

The X-90, a concept vehicle introduced at the 1993 Tokyo Motor Show, was based on a chassis from the global Suzuki Sidekick. This was then sold in the U.S. as the Geo Tracker. It was unique in that it didn't use the traditional 4x4 configuration and instead had a coupe-like design with very limited off-road capability. The X-90 had two bolstered thrones inside and a small trunk.

The Nissan Pulsar NX

The Nissan Pulsar NX is one of those cars that could only have been born in the 1980s. Without the 1980s, this car wouldn't have had its angular and blocky design. The Bizarre Car of the Week this week examines the unique design and bizarre features of the Nissan Pulsar NX. Before we dive into the details, let's look at some of its most notable features.

Hummer H2

The Hummer Hummer 2's interior is a mixture of comfort and industrial features. The controls on dashboard are big and the stereo small. This makes for a comfortable ride that is surprisingly low in ground clearance. The dashboard is adorned with exposed bolt heads, making it feel even more strange. This odd combination is what makes the H2 a truly unique car.

Renault Avantime

The Renault Avantime is a peculiar car with a quirky name. It was a part French-English portmanteau. Avant means "before" while time refers to time. It was intended to mean "modern coupe", which is a pleasant enough meaning, but not enough to make the car successful. Avantime, on the other hand, plays with opposites. It has an animal-like front, and a squat, muscular back. Charles Moss, one of the critics of the Avantime, has called it "a hideous folly".

Toyota Multipla

Multiplas are unusual looking cars if they've been seen. The windshield is slightly raised and the cluster of instruments in the middle aren't the most attractive design elements. You'll also notice the door card's thinness if you're right handed. This is great news for right-hand drivers as it makes it easier to place the Multipla on the road.

How To

How to Become an Automotive Technician

An automotive technician is responsible for vehicle maintenance and repair. He/she works at car dealerships, auto shops, garages, service centers, etc. He/she assists customers in fixing their cars, trucks or motorcycles. An automotive technician must be capable of diagnosing problems and making repairs safely, accurately and efficiently.

A person who wants to work as an automotive technician should first obtain an associate degree from a vocational school. After completing this program the student must pass the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence exam (ASE). ASE stands as American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The ASE certification test consists of two sections. One section tests mechanical knowledge; the second section tests practical skills. To pass the test you must go to one of the authorized testing facilities. These locations are available online or through your local automotive dealer.

After passing the exam, a candidate must take a state exam before being licensed as an automobile technician. This process can vary depending on where the applicant lives. Some states require applicants to take a training course while others allow them the freedom to study on their own. Some states issue licenses to technicians as soon as they get their license. Others wait until they have worked at least six months as an automotive technician.

To get started as an automotive technician, a person should apply to a local automotive dealership. Most employees who are hired start as apprentices. Apprenticeships last for three years. During this time, a student learns how to perform basic repairs, such as changing oil, adjusting brakes, replacing tires, cleaning spark plugs, inspecting engine compartments, and performing routine maintenance. Some students are taught how to repair engines and replace transmission fluids. Classes are offered by most schools during regular business hours. Some schools also offer evening classes, if necessary.

Once a student finishes his/her apprenticeship, it is possible to become a Journeyman. Journeymen can spend up to five years learning how major systems work, including transmissions, differentials. They also learn how to adjust steering gear and suspensions. You will also learn how to repair complicated electrical components, as well as how to remanufacture engines and rebuild transmissions. Because they have a good understanding of the job and what customers expect, many employers prefer to hire journeymen.

If a candidate successfully passes the required exams and receives a license, he/she might want to consider starting his/her own shop. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were almost 1.7 million available jobs in the automotive mechanic field in 2010. This number is expected to increase by 18% between 2009 and 2020. A candidate who plans to open a shop should expect to spend many thousands of dollars on equipment and supplies.

The salary of an automotive technician will depend on many factors including where you live, your education level, experience and the type of employer. On average, an unemployed person could earn $20,000 annually. A high school diploma is all that's required to earn approximately $21,000 annually. An associate's degree earns approximately $24,000 annually. A technician with a bachelor's degree earned approximately $27,000 annually. The average annual salary for those with master's degrees was $32,000. Salary increases can be common. A professional who earns less that $30,000 today could reasonably expect a $40,000 increase in the next few decades.
